What to Expect

Your photo session will be relaxed, fun and enjoyable. I love to capture how people naturally interact, so be yourself! During an average session, we spend an hour or so taking photos.

The best advice I can give is to make sure you’re well rested on the day of your photo session. Eat something; stay hydrated. The better you feel, the better you’ll look. :)

Don’t be afraid to laugh. I want you to enjoy the experience!

Posing

I have a posing style that I like; however, I try to keep things natural. I like what seems normal for you. I'll try to get a feel for that when we meet. If you don't want to be posed, that is fine too.

Locations

Parks, libraries, historic/urban areas and downtown/Rivermarket areas are all great locations for photos. If you do not have a location in mind when booking your photo session, I can recommend a few places and make sure we choose the perfect spot for you.

Clothing

Where to start?

Decide on a theme. Do you want to have dressy or traditional photos? Or do you want to capture your casual, playful, vintage or edgy style? Don’t forget, you can always bring a change of clothes.

It’s always best to think color. Saturated colors (green, blue, red, purple, orange, yellow) really pop in your photos. I don’t recommend too much white or black — it just doesn’t do much for most people. When trying to put together outfits try to coordinate, not match. Pick 2-3 colors and mix them all in. Layers are always a good idea (unless it’s 100 degrees) and provide a lot of interest and makes it easy to remove an article of clothing and have a totally different look--hats, scarves, jackets, boots, etc. All accessories are welcome.

Ladies be sure to wear spanx or appropriate undergarments in case the wind catches your dress or skirt. I want you to feel comfortable as possible.
